The city of Chicago boasts tons of kid-friendly destinations to keep the whole family entertained. From the Michigan Avenue to the Magnificent Mile, Chicago offers many favorite family friendly places to visit and things to do.

1. Millennium Park. First planned in the year 1997, Millennium Park has evolved into the most significant millennium project in the world. This new park, located at the heart of downtown Chicago, gives kids a chance to splash in the ankle-deep water while the parents could have an opportunity to admire the modern art sculptures.

2. Shedd Aquarium. Ranked among the world's leading public aquariums, Shedd is home to more than 32,600 animals. It's nicknamed "the World's Aquarium". Fish is not the only creature to be seen. Marine birds and lizards contribute a lot to the great popularity of this place.

3. The Magnificent Mile. One of the greatest avenues of the world, The Magnificent Mile doesn't seem like a place for kids at first sight since department stores and boutiques are the most common things to be found here. There are still many interesting things for children, like the massive Disney store, girl stores and the high-tech Nike and Apple shops. Hot chocolate is available at the Ghiradelli Cafe at the northern end of Michigan Avenue.

4. Chicago Children's Museum. Packed with interactive activities, multicultural performances and workshops, Chicago Children's Museum get kids to play on giant Grand Piano Slide and learn about the inventions of Chicagoans. Visitors can also participate in the Dinosaur Expedition to explore recreation of the 1997 Sahara expiation.

5. Navy Pier Park. Surrounded by restaurants, stores and other attractions, Navy Pier Park is one of Chicago's most popular landmarks and tourism attractions. It combines twentieth century charm with modern day thrill, featuring a huge ferris wheel with a splendid view of the shoreline. This is the perfect place to hop a boat tour.
